Re-Tec Patch Kit

We have been supplying our patch lining material to customers across the UK since 2012. Our patch kit has passed the WRC Hydrostatic Test. The kits contain bottled silicate resin, which gives a long working time and a relatively short cure time. When on site, you need to know that you can get the job done efficiently and effectively with high quality material you can rely on.

  • Can I block off a disused pipe to keep out rats and odors without digging?

By using the Re-Tec Permanent Pipe Stop Kit you can remotely block off redundant pipes. The permanent pipe stop is manufactured as a sealed felt bag with an inflatable bladder inside.  The bag is wet out using silicate resin and attached to an air rod via a quick release mechanism.  The bag is pushed into place with the air rods, inflated and left to cure. The quick release mechanism is activated to detach from the rods, leaving in place the cured pipe stop, which gives an air-tight seal, preventing odors and rats from entering the property.

  • Is it possible to invert a liner 70 meters long?

Yes.  The Re-Tec Liner Jet has been specially developed for the rehabilitation of damaged pipes inside buildings and other places where it is difficult or not economical to use a big air inversion tank or inversion tower.  Thanks to its small size and low weight, it is easy to carry and place at the work site.  The length of the liner that can be inverted is only limited by the working time of the resin used and what can be handled at the work site.  By adjusting the dual controls, a liner can be continually fed giving a quick, smooth inversion.

  • Can I install a Patch Kit round a 90-degree bend?

Absolutely. But you will need to use a different Patch Kit and a different Packer than if you were making a repair on a straight pipe.  The Re-Tec Radius Patch Kit contains fiberglass which has a special weave to allow the material to stretch into the outer radius of the 90-degree bend.  The Re-Tec Radius Packer will naturally bend to a 90-degree shape.  The rubber in the center of the packer will inflate first forcing the material into the outer of the 90-degree bend whilst preventing any creasing on the inside of the radius, leaving a perfect finish.

  • What mechanical tool would I need to clean a damaged cast iron pipe?

The Fixaline high speed cleaning and milling machine comes with a variety of tools for different applications. The Fixer 10 has 23.5m of 10mm flexible cable with outer casing, which is driven by an electrical motor.  The adjustable speed control can be operated via a foot pedal proving a rotating speed of 2250 rpm.  The tool to attach to the cable for a damaged cast iron pipe would be the Cyclone Chain.  The centrifugal force keeps the cyclone chain in the center of the pipe and is far gentler than a knocker or grinder chain which could further damage the pipe.

  • What would be the best liner to use to go round multiple 90-degree bends on a DN100mm pipe?

Ultraflex Multibend Liner is a super soft inversion liner for use on pipes with 90-degree or multiple bends. The liner can change diameter which allows it to press out to the outer radius of the bend without causing any creases on the inner radius.  The coating of the liner is constructed in such a way that it will allow the use of polyester resin without damaging the coating.  We have tested using Bufa NDA and FDA Polyester Resin.

  • Is it possible to repair the inner saddle on a lateral connection without digging?

By using the Re-Tec Lateral Connection Repair System (LCR), it is possible to install a Y shaped or T shaped felt connection piece which will repair the complete junction.  The LCR material comes in a kit and is used in conjunction with a silicone bladder which is wrapped round a packer frame.  The Re-Tec LCR Control Box is connected between the packer frame and the compressor to allow the installer to vacuum, inflate and release the bladder to leave the cured material in place.
